Part of a series of renovations to the below-grade levels of 401 N Michigan Avenue, the Fitness Center is a re-purposing of a second basement floor into an active tenant amenity. Entry to the space is via a custom glass and steel stair along a dramatic stone wall that directs tenants to a bamboo and quartz greater’s desk. Finishes and carefully placed mirrors keep the underground space light and spacious. Users can choose from a variety of exercise equipment or participate in spin or yoga classes. Elegant locker facilities, including showers and a massage room complete the experience.
This project was a finalist for the Urban Land Institute Chicago’s 7th Annual Vision Awards.
